Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. -Barack Obama
Have you selected your “word” of the New Year yet? I normally do and try to keep it close and in front of me throughout the year so I can stay focused on what I need to do (or not do). My word for 2017 was Focus. For 2018, it’s Intentional (with a splash of Focus)😁. I’ve been more focused than ever this year tuning in to Tish.
And, there were some things on my goals list at the beginning of the year that I no longer desired by the end of the year. And, that scared me. I prayed and prayed for my desire for some things and people to come back but…it left the building. So, I started to hone in on what I thought was the most meaningful in my life (personal and professional). And, I no longer wanted to sit in a box and not share more of me in the social media world.
At the end of the year, I had a major surgery and had to take quite a bit of time off from my “hustle and bustle schedule”. And, this was my second surgery to correct a health problem so I had to really take this time serious. So, all I had was time to reflect on everything that had happened great and the things that I needed to be transitioned from. I was able to meet with some awesome women who needed a “Girlfriend” to cheer them up, hold their hands, and help them to enjoy their life. I wouldn’t have been able to do that with my former hectic schedule. I prepared meals at home, met my kids at the bus stop, became a “dance mom” and a few other joys that I had skipped out on in the name of my “hustle”.
Girlfriends, I learned to live life and truly enjoy every aspect of it. From creating my own schedule (on my terms), starting and maintaining a few projects that I could really see being a part of my brand, and being fully present in my walk with God and the nurturing of my marriage and family.
My business is a part of me, I am my brand and I want to share many facets of personal life and business with you. I want to inspire you, just like many of you inspire me.
I’m asked all of the time, “How do I do it?”, “What motivates me?”, “What do I do when I don’t feel like going on?”, and I even receive lots of etiquette questions. So, I will be incorporating the answers here on my website.
My life is more than parties…Girlfriend, don’t get me wrong, I still love them but that’s not all of who I am and who the Lord has created me to be. And, this year, (scared and all) I will live more intentionally and encourage you to do so as well.
The content here on my page will be quite different and will include:
•snippets of my business as seen before
•parts of my personal life because I am my brand and,
•inspiration for me and you to design and live the life that we love.
I’ll share more of my new scary adventure here on my blog. There are a few fun things that are already scheduled and I pray that you stick around and hang out with me in 2018.
Thank you for encouraging me, hiring me, and pushing me to be my greatest self.
